Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps Performance in Portugal Q4 2023

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top navigation and maps applications in Portugal showed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a dynamic quarter with downloads starting at 22K in late September and dipping to 13K by late October. However, the app experienced a resurgence, closing the quarter with nearly 21K downloads in the final week of December. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained around the 500K mark, peaking at 545K in late September and ending the quarter at 537K.

Google Maps Go saw a gradual decline in downloads from 11K in late September to a low of 6.7K in mid-December, before bouncing back to 11K by the end of December. The app maintained a high number of weekly active users, though there was a slight decline from 1.4M in late September to 1.3M by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth had a relatively stable download count, starting at 4.5K in late September and dropping to 2.5K by mid-December, then increasing to 3.5K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users remained steady, with minor fluctuations, ranging from 35K in late September to 32K in the final week of December.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation experienced a significant drop in downloads from 2.4K in late September to 620 in mid-December, but saw a slight recovery to 910 by the end of December. Weekly active users also declined from 8.9K in late September to 5.4K by the end of December. Revenue showed modest fluctuation, peaking at $56 in early November and late December.

Live Earth Map: Street View 3D had a notable spike in downloads, with a peak of 5.7K in mid-October, and a subsequent decline, ending the quarter with 1.4K downloads in the final week of December. Weekly active users saw a significant rise to 12K in mid-October, followed by a decline, ending the quarter with 6.4K active users.
